Remember the diagnostic criteria for Major Depressive Disorder using the useful mnemonic “SIG E CAPS”:
- Sleep disturbances
- Interest decreased (anhedonia)
- Guilt and/or feelings of worthlessness
- Energy decreased
- Concentration problems
- Appetite/weight changes
- Psychomotor agitation or retardation
- Suicidal ideation
